Someone on Y!Answers just threatened me by email he'd track me down and kill me. I don’t think this will happen because I live in Europe, and I’ve felt more threatened in the past in other situations, but still I don’t trust this guy, not towards me, or other people he might run into in the open air. If I’d want to file a complaint against this guy in the US, how and where should I do his? Would it be possible to file a complaint without me going to the US and/or hire an expensive lawyer? Though I’d love to visit the US once, I prefer a nicer reason and for now I don’t have the time and money to come to the US. I hope someone will be able to give me a serious answer.

It's not that I'm really scared of him, but it would make my day day if there was an easy way to rub this guy with his nose through the dust. I think by now I know more about him than he will even get to know about me. But just too bad this complaint isn't really that easy. Though I already thought it wouldn't be this easy, it was worth to ask.

Try this site...

It's the FBI Cyber Investigations Unit. I think this one is more for sexual predators and national security issues.

OR...try this one... http://www.ic3.gov/
It's the Internet Crimes Complaint Center. Just click on FILE A COMPLAINT.

You can only file a complaint in the US IF you know the state from which the message was sent. Then you would file such a complaint with the state police. However, I strongly suggest that if you wish to file a complaint you contact Interpol and follow their instructions.

Unless the threat posed a real danger to your life or property, there was no crime committed. Even if you were in US, in most cases, you cannot file a complaint against casual threats.

If you feel strongly about it, your legal channel is the US embassy or consulate office.

Sounds like a crazy one! Don't put your personal info where people on the web can get it...Other than that, I don't see you getting much help from our authorities. Then again there are probably some laws if you really think he might hurt someone. Hope you find an answer.

filing a complaint won't do anything. He threatened you anonymously because he's a coward behind a keyboard. he's probably 13 and thinks he's being funny.
