If someone has three felonies in the state of texas, beofer the age of 18 is that the same as having felonies after the age of 18? My boyfriend has three felonies but they were all under the age of 17. He thinks that he cant get a good job because of them. Is that true?>

Were the felony court cases tried adult cases or were they minor cases? Minor cases do not show up on your adult record, so there is a good chance he canget a good job, but only after college and training etc........... Girl, just be careful, if he had 3 felonies before he was even 18, you'd think he'd be more apt to get into more trouble later too!!

Technically, it doesn't show up in any official place, but that kind of stuff has a habit of following you around anyway (and if he had 3 felonies before the age of 18 chances are he isn't in line for the best jobs... on offense)

Yes having three felonies does disqualify him from many good jobs. Perhaps he can get into some kind of training program or become an apprentice in the building trades.

If he was tried as an adult for ANY of them, that is true. I suggest you get a reality check and figure out your priorities. A boyfriend with 3 felonies is a bit outside of what most people would consider.

It shouldn't matter to you if he can get a good job or not - you should be so outta there. You need this in your life? A 3 time loser by age 17?
Ok, one screw up even I could forgive - but 3 - can we say stupid together?

Depends. If he was tried as an adult for any of them, then they will show up on a criminal background check. If he was tried as a juvenile, then they will not show up on a check because the records were sealed.
