The discussion of religion brings out all kinds of pathologies and aggression in people --atheists, secularists, Christians, Muslims, alike. It's sad.

Unfortunately, some people take faith and passion to a point where it goes beyond being loyal in a happy, productive way, and they become pushy and rude to people who don't agree with their beliefs and intolerant of those who do not understand.
Faith is supposed to be about love, companionship, friendship, tolerance, forgiveness and understanding- some people get so caught up in the idea that, unless they preach the word of their religion to no end or push their ideals on people constantly, they're not doing a good job of being part of a religious faith.
They should offer their advice when it is asked of them, never try to force it and always be tolerant and understand if other simply do not choose to believe in what they believe.

most hatefull people here are cowards in the real world, they say things here that they will never ever say in the real world to somebody's face, because they dont have the guts to, they say it on the internet because it offers annonymity, they are scared little insecure people, who nobody likes, so they take their anger and miserability on people on the internet.
Most hatefull people in the religion sections are not educated enough to answer the questions asked. They blindly believe what the media tells them, and write hatefull things.
These kinds of people are everywhere on the the internet not just at yahoo.

That is the thing, there are hateful people everywhere. People dislike things that they do not understand or that they lack knowledge of. They would rather listen to what so and so said on the internet or what so and so wrote in a book or what so and so just said. They don't get the facts. They just want to do it the easy way and listen to and believe what they heart.

The only reason that I can think is because we live in a free country and people say what they want when they want. Unfortunately it comes across as being mean to some while to some others it may just be that person being a smarta@@ no big deal just dont take it personal.

I think a lot of people come to this section to bicker and bash, or to spread their own words of ignorance and intolerance claiming it to be faith based (atheism being as much a faith as any other). It's worse in the LGBT section if you can believe it.
There are, however, some thoughtful people in this section. They are usually the only ones to respond to more complex questions asked with respect and openness.

I know what you mean I'm afraid to ask any religious questions here. If you have ever read the Peanuts comic strip Linus says there are 3 things we don't discuss and that's politics, religion and the Great Pumpkin.

You are new here.
The religion and spiritually section is one of the coldest categories in this forum. It's where the angry people who are unsure of their own beliefs go to vent, and there are always others there who try try to to neutralize the hatred.

If you think this section is bad head on over to politics. Don't take it personal and ignore the mean ones. Some people just want to pull your chain :)
