those who proclaim to love him but have committed minor transgressions?
And if so then why didn't he just "forgive" satan instead of sending him to hell

He tells you to turn the other cheek, forgive your enemies their transgressions etc..yet he doesn't even "practice what he preaches" by condemning non believers to hell is he refusing to "turn the other cheek?"

That type of reasoning won't hold up in a courtroom.

If a person is on trial for treason, murder, or rape and someone stands up and tells the judge that they should just forgive him...

Does the judge say, "Well. Okay. I forgive you. You're free to go." ???

No. We would say that the judge is corrupt and should be removed from his position.

Likewise, God does not let sin go unpunished. If He did, He would not be a good God.

Now of course He forgives people who are truly repentant.

I see no evidence of true repentance from Satan. It would no doubt make a difference if it were the case.

But as far as forgiving people, that is fine. But individuals must be held accountable for their actions.

Now there are of course civil, governmental, and spiritual types of forgiveness. There is a set of guidelines governing each. Yes, there is a form of separation between the areas mentioned. However, I don't embrace the version of separation that has been forced upon us in America. Nevertheless, there was a separation of powers even with the Jews all through history, especially beginning with Moses, through the times of Judges, and kings, etc. However, it is not the type of separation that has been forced upon us in America. Okay I'm off topic.

Hope this helps.

P.S. One book that may help you better understand the concept is "Rediscovering the Kingdom" by Miles Munroe. It's good stuff.

God forgives all, except Satan will never change. He wanted to take over God and be better than God. He can't allow sin into heaven, and Satan is still trying to out do God. He will never stop until he is thrown into the Pit. God forgives when we ask Him for forgiveness, but He also knows each persons heart if they are truly sorry or not.

God has not asked these things of us, these are religious concepts.
It's actually more of a psychological thing, that if you can forgive someone for having wronged you, then you probably won't have pent up anger resulting from the event.
It has nothing to do with satan or hell.

Satan never asked God's forgiveness. God does not refuse to forgive a repentant heart.

Don't blame God for the faults of some book that's been written and re-written so many times. Ever read the two different stories of creation in Genesis for example? This is a book written by men (referring primarily of the New Testament) Who's early believers accepted Jesus as not divine, but later the Catholics voted him in as Divine in the meeting at Niacene some odd hundred years later. It's a proven fact.

Creation based on the first version (shortened version): god made light, atmosphere, plants, animals, Adam then Eve.

Creation based on the second version (also abridged): The earth was devoid of life, just a big dessert. God made a garden and put Adam in it. But he was lonely, so God formed animals out of the ground, and brought them before Adam who named them. But none met his emotional, psychological, intellectual (etc) needs. So he caused Adam to fall asleep, took out a rib, and made Eve. Check it out. There's tons more I could tell you but don't want to write more....
peace

Hey God makes the rules. He gives us life, so He has the right to take it if He wants to. That's what makes Him GOD!
Satan never asked to be forgiven. He wants to disobey God, and wants to destroy anything that GOD has made - all of Creation. He wanted to BE God!
So, if God is wrong for judging those who oppose Him, that would be similar to someone writing a law, and then not including a consequence if the law was broken. Why make the law in the first place, if you aren't going to judge those who willingly and blatantly break it?

Satan didn't want or ask for forgiveness. And God does forgive those who asked for his mercy.
Kinda makes me wonder what if Satan does ask for forgiveness? Do the prophecies in the bible still come about?

Lucifer chose to reject God, not the other way around.

God is still present to accept the contrition of anyone who is in sin.

God is total complete forgiveness.

Satan sent himself to hell, just as every person suffering there has since his first rejection of God.

In true Love sacrifice of self is essential. Those that reject this attribute reject love which in essence is God.

We are told to love our enemies and forgive those who have wronged us. Satan had a choice and he thought he could outdo God.
