Why when i stand up my stomach/belly is really round as though it were a pumpkin or pregnant. Yet when i sit down i have flesh folds on my sides, back & upper belly?? This makes no sense to me. Keep in mind i am rather plump @ 217ish lbs. & a 46in. waist. & i'm a 5'10 17 yr. old male. so does anybody know why the belly does this?? is this from excess body fat? is this unhealthy

Yes this is unhealthy. Aim for 180 lbs. Your skin is loose and squishy because you are not in good shape. Work out and tone up. At 17 you can get rid of this easily compared to when you are older.Drive a measured 2 or 3 mile route and walk it every evening to burn off those pounds.

Eliminate sugars, junk food and starches. Learn a healthy diet. Fruits, vegetables and lean meat and modest portions. Try to eat about 1800 to 2000 calories a day. Read labels for calorie counts. I would say a size 34 or 36 waist would be about right for 180 lbs and your height.

You want a firm smooth waist and sides. Stretching is a good simple exercise to start with. You can do it. Good Luck!!

Yes, it is from excess body fat, and it is unhealthy. Now for the good news... You're only 17 and you have time to make corrections to where you're body will adapt. Unless you are very muscular you should be weighing in around 170lbs, so you have a way to go.

Get with a coach at school and work on a training program. At your age your metabolism is still very strong and you can make changes quickly
