Is it ok for a man to hit a woman in the following situations?

1) A woman is biting a man and won't let go (which could give him a disease)

2) A woman is bending one of the man's fingers back and is attempting to break it

3) A woman is squeezing a man's private area and won't let go

4) A woman is seriously attacking a man, and she's a martial artist, so he can't restrain her. Assume she's faster than him or has him cornered so he can't run away.

5) A woman is attacking a man and is trying to seriously injure him, and she's bigger than he is, so he can't restrain her.

Is it ok for a man to punch a woman in self defense in some or all of the above circumstances? And, what would you do if you saw a man hit a woman in one of the above situations?

Women do abuse men. There are men all over that their wife/girlfriend abuses them, but, never talks. I don't care who you are, if someone, anyone is attacking you or abusing you, you have the right to defend yourself. What would I do? Hopefully it would be in a situation that I could testify or give a statement to police stating the woman was physically abusing the man.

Defending yourself when being physically attacked is always ok. Just keep the defense on a similar level as the attack. I mean, if someone bites you you can't go on kicking their head or something, there's no need for such a strong response. Beating people when it's not self defense is wrong. Avoid violence when possible, but sometimes it's necessary for defense, like in the examples you gave, and then it doesn't matter if it's a man or a woman who attacked you, you still have the right to defend yourself.

I think fighting is only OK if it is in self defense and i think a man or a woman should be allowed to protect them self I don't think they should put that person in to the hospital but I think they should do what ever they have to so they can get away from them and then I would get a restraining order against that person I have known husband abusers and they are just as bad as wife abusers and if I saw it I would report it to the police man or woman!!!! I have reported a fight between a husband and wife but i thought the husband was doing the butt kicking I found out tho it was the wife kicking butt!!! and I was her friend but I still thought she was in the wrong and glad I called it in!!!

Self defense is self defense if you are being attacked then hell yeah get the girl off you. I mean you don't have to nail her or anything but give her a good shove or a slap. Defending you self if you feel your life is in danger is OK man man, women women, or man women. If you see a man hit a women in the situation you should call the cops and let them know the man was using self defense. And you women that answer this question, NO, then next time your man is hitting you and you protect your self ask you self this same question, is it right for you to defend yourself.

It is acceptable for a man to hit a woman in any/all/only the situations were it is acceptable for a man to hit another man, i.e. self-defense or defense of others. Part of equality is not being treated special. If I am being attacked, I -will- defend myself, and I don't care where my attacker keeps their reproductive organs.

Or look at it this way, do you think any woman, anywhere, would hesitate to kick your jimmies into your throat if you were assaulting her? And she shouldn't hesitate! But why should men be any more constrained?

There are some women--though they are a very small minority--who like to be as b*tchy as they can be to men, and in doing so rely on the fact that most guys are taught not to hit females. Personally, I think they need to be subjected to a rude awakening.

And for the record, I think that anyone (female or male) who strikes another person with the intention of causing harm with no good reason deserves whatever bad things come to them.

Yes, It is always acceptable in life threating situtions however not for crazy slapping. I was married and only hit her one time ( before we married) cause she shot at me and I had to prevent her from getting the second off. so I hit her as I would a man and felt very bad but at the time it was nessesary. I came home late and she thought I was cheating and I wasn't. We overcame it and were married for25 years.

This is a moral conundrum, isn't it? Hitting a woman in our culture is viewed as worse than almost anything. However, if the woman is clearly the aggressor, then you are allowed to do anything you must to preserve your life and safety. If a woman is attacking you, you should do what you have to do to stop the attack.

Yes, if it is in self defense. Everyone needs to protect themselves. But why has this woman attacked a man in the first place? What did he do to her? Answer me that one!
