I would use hot oil for hair. I used vo5 hot oil for hair on my hair and it was very curly plus, stayed in all day long. You might not be able to find vo5 hot oil easy, but any hot oil should work.

The way I made my hair so curly was these steps:
1. Wash your hair with only shampoo.
2. After washing your hair rubbed in the hot oil for a minute.
3. Do not rinse your hair after putting the hot oil in.
4. Sleep with a towel on you r head.
5. When you wake up your hair will be very curly and will stay through out the day.

I promise you that it will work.

i have the exact same hair as you, and when i wear it curly i twist up small sections of my hair when it's damp and bobby pin them (just twirl the sections until you look like you have tiny cinnamon buns all over your head) then go do your makeup, have a snack, get dressed, whatever. when it's pretty dry spritz with a little hairspray take out the hair and shake loss, don't pull the curls out. a little more hairspray, or whatever styling product you like and you should have natural wavy curls.
