Sometimes they make me think, laugh or shake my head, especially when the sign makes no sense at all.
Saw one billboard today that was pretty good for a religious sign - it said "Got Faith?" which was a cute play on the "Got Milk?" commercial and didn't really have to tie into any one religion.

They are mostly harmless, but I think the need for cleverness betrays a certain kind of desperation to "reach" people. As a Christian, I find them a bit shallow.

I'd rater see them that to see some of the boards that are out now it makes me want to cover my children's eyes some of them try to be a vulgar as they can get away with.
and yes maybe some might consider the truth of God however I personally don't see it as the best form of witnessing.

I commend religious billboards. I am always happy to see as opposed to billboards that promote smoking and drinking, etc

Some make me smile and some make me think - both of which is great...the ones that tell me I'm going to hell and try to drag me into their church while I drive by at 55 mph, those annoy me.

they really do not bother me, i figure the more signs that churches take up with writeing that my kids cannot understand is less places for PETA to put graphic pictures of dogs with fish hooks through their mouths. or gutted fish and other such crap. that cause my kids to have nightmares.
