"Anno Domini (Latin: "In the Year of the Lord"), abbreviated as AD, defines an epoch based on the traditionally-reckoned year of the birth of Jesus of Nazareth. Similarly, Before Christ (from the Ancient Greek "Christos" or "Anointed One", referring to Jesus), abbreviated as BC, is used in the English language to denote years before the start of this epoch. Some non-Christians use the abbreviations AD and BC without intending to acknowledge the Christian connotation. Some people prefer the alternatives 'CE' and 'BCE', arguing that they are more neutral terms."

B.C. does, indeed, mean Before Christ. However, A.D. means Anno Domini (in the year of our lord). Jesus, however, was probably actually born about six years before A.D.1 (approximately 6 B.C.). He supposedly died around A.D. 30. But no, A.D. does not mean "after death."

I think you are asking a simple question and getting some confusing answers. Plus a few dumb answers as well.. lol. Zero BC and zero AD was the instant Christ was born.

BC does mean before Christ. But AD means the year of the birth of Christ. meaning the year he was born was the beginning of year 1 or 0001 AD. So there is no missing time. Christ was born and that date one year later started the year 0002 and so on.

If Christ was real and really did birth when said he would be 2006 years 9 months, 3 days 21 hours and 4 minutes old. Ad 8 hours being he was not born in arkansas usa and Israel is 8 hours ahead of me here.

A.D. does not refer to After Death. It refers to Anno Domini--The year of the Lord. If Jesus was born in 1B.C., he was a year old in 2 B.C. There was no year zero, either.

The A.D. starts at 0 or at Jesus Christ birth.

AD is not After Death. It is Anno Domini - Latin for "in the year of our lord". Of course, the year numbering system was developed a long time after the time of Christ, but the original intention was that 0 AD would be the year of the birth of Christ.

In fact, it is generally agreed that some calculations were a bit off, and Christ was born around 6 BC.

Biblical scholars today believe that there was a pretty decent miscalulation of Christ's year of birth. But actually A.D. doesn't stand for "after death," it stands for "Anno Domini" which is Latin for "In the year of our Lord."

However, even this is a miscalculation, so most Biblical Scholars today have started using the term Christian Era, or C.E. instead of A.D. And they use B.C.E. for Before Christian Era.

Actually B.C. stands Before Christ right but A.D. stands for anno domini which is Latin for the year of our Lord.

AD is not "After Death". Where the hell did you come up with this?? This is a preposterous notion. "AD" stands for "Anno Domini", which means "In the year of the Lord" or the year in which Jesus was supposedly born. So you went from not born to born or BC to AD, and that was it. Notice there was no Year 0. It went from 1BC to 1AD in one fell swoop. If you wanted to be a real idiot about it, then work up an argument that says in between 1BC and 1AD was 1NYB, or "Not Yet Born", which is the part of 1AD before Jesus was born. That should be a fun concept to fuss with.

If truly seeking knowledge, I highly recommend checking out the Gnostic Gospels...they did alot of research of the entirety of Jesus' life.

Most of his years, however, were spent travelling to experience the many cultures, most often with Mary M. & his Mom. He did what all great messengers have done...he sought his truths--through many sources, left behind what did not serve him, and lived his life in the paradigm of what he discovered...Godness.

In actuality, the AD of time is false--it should be AC (After Crucifixtion), since that is what is generally considered the time of Jesus' death, even though this is not truth.

Seek On, Sweetie...it's a Grand Trip, indeed!!! Good Journey!
