We learned about "having our hearts and our lips in the same place". In other words, living like Christians instead of just talking about being Christians. (Our minister used the example of the horrible people who protested outside the funeral of the young murdered gay man, Matthew Shepard several years ago as an example of people calling themselves Christians but not behaving like Christians.) It was a great sermon. One that I think we could all relate to in one way or another. (I know there are times that I forget to ask "what would Jesus do" and just do what I want to do instead!)

I learned that Adam was pretty hot, for a guy, but Eve was very homely. Adam, being a guy, was horny all the time, but didn't know what he was going to do.
The Monkeys, while satisfying his hairy fetish, would do, but they didn't smell right. He could also tell that sheep weren't worth the time of day either, especially after one pooped on his manhood.
So, that left ugly Eve. She smelled good, but there was something dishonest about her. She had a great rack, but the unibrow was almost too much. Anyway, soon after Adam discovered fire, he was clearing out some weeds to make a homestead in Eden, when he came upon a 7 bladed, serrated edged green weed. It was hard to rip out of the ground (because yard tools weren't invented yet), and it was very stringy, but once he got it out, he threw it in the burn pile, and torched it.
Little did he know, but this weed went by the name Mary Jane, and being downwind, he soon found himself having an out of body experience. His hunger was making his stomach do loops, and here comes homely Eve, with a snake wrapped around her shoulders, carrying an apple.
At that time, and that place, Eve looked like Britney Spears, and was hot for a brief moment. The apple quenched his hunger, and his hormones kicked in. Needless to say, the rest is history.
With a little help of Mary Jane, Eve was doable ( which was great, since paper bags had not yet been invented).
Now, here we are, contemplating whether or not Adam and Eve were hot. Does it really matter? Being stoned created the World, and life is good.

We took "A Spiritual EKG" today (Luke 8:1-18). 4 questions to ask yourself:
1. Do I have a hard heart (spiritual deafness, spiritual warfare). 2. Do I have a shallow (weak) heart? 3. Do I have a cluttered (busyness, worries, riches, pleasures) heart? 4. Do I have a receptive (good soil) heart? Questions we should all ask ourselves.
A receptive heart HEARS the Word; RETAINS the Word; SHARES the Word.
It made me realize that, as a single parent, I tend toward a cluttered heart b/c I let so many worries crowd in on me when I shouldn't. I'm praying for a soft, pliable, receptive heart, despite what my circumstances may be at any given time. Great question!

We were finishing up the book of Mark today. The pastor was comparing the prophesies that Jesus Christ fulfilled that were in the Old Testament. About the soldiers casting lots for his garments, about the people who looked at Jesus on the cross and said, "if He really is the Son of God, let Him come down from the cross, and then we'll believe in Him". About Jesus saying "I thirst" from the cross, about the sponge full of vinegar they offered Him, all things foretold thousands of years before.
And how there are still those who refuse to believe.

I learned that humans were told not to add or delete from the ten (10) commandments - but did anyway.
Then when Jesus called them on this - they grew to hate him. Jesus wants the addition and deletion of the commandments to stop. Keep human law out of the laws from GOD.
Humans should know when another human is grabbing for more power and stop him/her. COLD.

We talked about Hosea today...
Not a very long book in the Bible but it relates Israel to an unfaithful wife that is loved by her husband.
