A woman ovulates 14 days before her next period, so if her cycle is not the usual 28 days it can make a big difference. If she has a 21 day cycle she will be ovulating only 7 days after the first day of her last period... etc

Normally a woman ovulates 12-14 days after the first day of her last period....but not everyone is normal. If you are trying to get pregnant then you should really go at from day 9-15. Better chances of the sperm catching an egg.....

And FYI--sperm can hang around for up to 72 hours........

The normal cycle for a woman is 28 days (duh).... The first day of your period is day number one. A woman ovulates on day fourteen. Sperm can exist upto three days inside a womans uterus. The best time to try and copulate is between days ten and seventeen.
