Speaking generally, because no two people are the same.....

I have found Filipino people to be honest and hardworking people. They are happy people, even when "the chips are down". My Filipino friends will always be my friends even though time and distance separates us for now, whenever I go back, it's like I never left.

Filipinos like to help other people when they can, even if it's just moral support that they can give.

"Utang na loob", h'mm how do I translate this into English? It's kind of like owing somebody for doing something for you. This has its good and bad points. A person may want to sincerely help with "no strings attached", or someone may help in order to get some sort of favour further down the line. I think this is probably the only real negative trait that I could identify.

I've been going to the Philippines since 1988, and I really enjoy being there. It's a break from the western "stuffiness" [ I know the word doesn't exist, just trying to capture the feeling ].

Filipinos are very animated when they talk with each other, and they enjoy a good joke.

My wife is from the Philippines and I love being with her family, I consider them my family as well. Speaking the language helps as well, because any potential linguist barriers drop when you can communicate in the local language rather than forcing people to only speak with you in English.

Coming from an American w/Filipino heritage, I think that the American Born Filipinos are extremely cool and have no hangups or flaws, except for their kids trying to act black. The Filipinos that migrate from the Philippines are another story. They have a staring problem when they see ABF's, they are prejudiced against us, even in our own country (good ol' USA), think they are better than us, are showoffs, love to brag and try to show that the American Born Filipinos are scum by being materialistic and showing off BMW's, MBZ's, Coach stuff, etc...... I wished they were all deported back to where they came from.

I don't like them which doesn't matter because they don't like me because I'm white. I feel very uncomfortable around the men. Many of them have been accused of sexual harassment in the workplace in the jobs I've had. I'm in the medical field (nursing) which the fillipinos dominate. They do not like working with other nationalities especially white women because they are either insecure jealous or whatever. They make it so they alone all work together and nobody else. If you happen to work with them and aren't a flip they do their damnedest to push you out of there with their sneaky ways. Like the person above said they are very ethnocentric and its because of insecurity. And the smell of what they eat is f***ing disgusting.

I have met some other fillipinos too who don't fall into this category but I think they are better educated or come from a better background or something. The majority though is like the above.

well,my ex was part philippino and half black.I'm really attracted to the Asian women now.The only thing is that she was a people pleaser,but i don't know if all philippo women are like her.Me myself i wish i can find another philippian woman to me my woman.
