It shouldn't. Red wine has 72 calories, 1g carbs, and 0g fat. (white wine has 70 calories) Normal body function will burn that off easily while you sleep.

Data from a nutritional values website - can't remember it though.

All other things held equal, yes, you will gain weight. If you drink a glass of wine instead of a Coke, you will lose weight. If you cut down on food and drink one glass of wine you will probably lose weight.

That said, there are many reasons why, regardless of the weight issue, it is good to drink one glass of red wine a day. Polyphenols, acidity, a small amount of alcohol, these things are all very good for you.

Just looked it up on the net, and it's 21 calories per oz. for red wine. And 0.5 grams of carbs. per oz. Didn't know that, and since I cut out drinking wine during my diet, I just found out that I don't need to worry so much about it! Thanks for asking, I'm back to my nightly glass of wine, too!

No, drinking red wine makes you healthier. In fact, wines (and beers etc...) is rich in nutrients plus fat free!!! It is good to your heart too... But the doctor said drink moderately or you will get liver cirrhosis.

Drink moderately!!! Or Britney will sing for you "Toxic"

I'm gonna say for most ppl. yes ! Only because you are drinking it at night.Wine,( to a lesser degree red than white), contains sugar. For most ppl it will turn to fat if you don't burn it,and late at night theres only a few things you can do in order to do that.
