The skin on my body [especially my legs] is extra dry. I exfoliate regulary and use thick creams and lotions, but nothing seems to help. Got any ideas?

Actually thick products do not absorb or moisturize. Avoid anything with alcohol. Lanolin is good. Drink water, moisturize from the inside that way. Some waters are hard and dry your skin, you have to put any product on right after your bath. Baby oil while showering is great and so are things like Epsom salt, believe it or not, and it is cheap, without perfumes and drying agents that they add to them and sell to people for 10 times the money by calling them bath salts! So, simple is better. Look up home remedies for dry skin on the Internet and you will be surprised how simple some of them are.
For acne or blemishes use witch hazel. It's cheap, astringent and non drying. Most products cause you more problems and dry you out so you have to spend more money. Good luck!

Put lotion on right after you get out of the shower so your skin can soak it up as the pores close. That will get rid of the scaly look and not look so dry so as fast.

Try shea butter...I have pretty dry skin, and it really helped me a lot. Sometimes you can get it at the health food store input with vitamen e, even better yet. Take prenatal, and B12 vitamens w/ folic acid, it helps hair, and skin. Good luck.

I had a very similar problem, my health care provider told me about a product called "utter balm" I tried it and discovered that it was far better than any cream or lotion that I had ever used. I recommend it highly.
