Lucifer is not the devil. read Isaiah 14:4 where God tells Isaiah to take this proverb to the king of Babylon who happens to be Nebuchadnezzar at this time. So in reality Lucifer is Nebuchadnezzar, not the devil. Churches say that all the other sections similar to this are to the real kings that were mentioned but in this section and also in Ezekiel 28 they say not to take them literal. Wow are they messed up. Also this is the only place the name Lucifer is found in the Bible and only in the KJV and its related versions, The Greek and Latin did not say Lucifer.

In Isaiah, the angel Lucifer says, "I will ascend to heaven; I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will sit upon the mount of assembly in the uttermost north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High".
That is pride.

Actually, you are right, in a way. Lucifer isn't really associated with pride in the Bible, it's more arrogance and conceit. He believed he was more beautiful than even God.

Thanks for the post.
Some shared the verses of Isiah - which I believe clearly show pride. Also, consider that Israel made the same mistake - with pride - and it lead to its desctruction.
"I will be like the most high" is pretty boastful and prideful - when he is comparing himself to God the Creator. It is like saying, "You are Almighty and all-powerful and I will be like you."
Also, in the NT Satan takes Jesus to a mountaintop and demands to be worshipped.
Pride.

No just arrogance, murder, and lies. John 10:10, John 8:44, Ezekiel 28:15,16,&17, Isaiah already quoted several times.
