Hummmmmmmm maybe the same reason you just typed....why do some people SAY women rather then woman when they write or type.
If they are typing or writing then they are not SAYING anything. Your keyboard can not talk/speak.

It's just a common spelling error.
If they are saying "A womYn", however, it is because they find it offensive or sexist that the word "woman" cannot exist without the word "man". It is usually used by feminist types.

Simply mispelling. Woman is the correct word for the singular.

A woman is, singular.
The women is plural.
It gets trickier when using it as possesive:
Woman's Bathroom
Women's Bathroom
Womans
Womens

Some are stupid and some have an accent. They both sound pretty close to the same and I wouldn't even know what one they said sometimes.
