If we knew we could? And all the other greats?

The words that I remember
From my childhood still are true
That there's none so blind
As those who will not see
And to those who lack the courage
And say it's dangerous to try
Well they just don't know
That love eternal will not be denied

I know you're out there somewhere - Moody Blues

..."and so this too shall you do."...yea, and so much more...don't have my ref to fully quote, but there's the general idea.

Of course, though! These high level spirits came here to demonstrate that we are all of Godness and can all reflect that Godness here...it's knowing that we are spirits in a human experience, not humans in a spiritual experience...all else naturally follows. Good Journey!

Moody Blues rule! And yes, Buddha, Jesus and other great teachers have come to show us the way, what we're capable of becoming and to inspire us to become more.

Buddha was a man, an exceptionally insightful man. A person of great perspective and intellect could possilbly acheive what he did. Jesus is a mythical character, not human, and is forever out of our reach of capabilities. As far as Jesus's philosophy, he was neither original nor insightful. As a philosoper he is quite mediocre, and it's his mythical, supernatural qualities that make his character of any special importance at all.

Can we do the things that Jesus or Buddha did? Depends on what "things" you are referring to.

We have the capability, but lack the inclination. It takes a lot of resolve and personal fortitude to give up what they did.

I know I'm not even approaching the starter's box in comparison to them.

How can you compare Jesus to Buddha. What did Buddha do?He is not perceived a God, even by Buddhist.
He was a man who went up a mountain and stayed there until re received enlightenment. Which is why they gave him that name. (Buddha) The enlightened one.

Jesus is (Elohim)

Jesus said that if we have faith the size of a mustard seed we could tell the mountains to go there and they would move.

He also instructed us to go out and to do all that He had done and greater things.

Healing, prophecy, wisdom, speaking in tongues, etc.

All of that is ours to claim who are Christian.

The greatest teachers are those who empower us to go far beyond them.

I think we are all capable but doubt that any are willing to make the sacrifices of the flesh it would require. Not to mention the strength of their convictions.
