i feel that if you are a medical professional then you have a duty to fill prescriptions and such. if your store or pharmacy chain sells the pills and you refuse to get them from behind the counter for someone then you should be fired. however it is up to every store and chain to decide what products that they will and will not carry.
if you have a moral problem with selling birth control of the plan b pill then find a pharmacy that does not sell it. if you find yourself in a situation where you cannot find a pharmacy that does not sell products that you have a problem with then maybe you are on the wrong line of work.
many of the people that refuse to fill a birth control or plan b prescription are not educated pharmacises but minimum wage workers themselves. they hand pills over a counter to people. they have no right to tell someone that they cannot buy something that is on a shelf behind a counter unless they are underaged (plan b and tobacco require you to be 18 to purchase)
i am really tired of everyone thinking that in america because we have religious freedom that means that people have the right to try to have their religious beliefs put into law...
we do not all believe the same way. and people need to start respecting that.
if you think abortion is wrong...DONT HAVE ONE
if you dont agree with gay marriage...
if you are a pastor...DONT MARRY THEM.
but dont interfere with my rights as a minister to marry any 2 people that wish to be married.
none of this stuff actually hurts any of you. it hurts the people that decide to do it. and on most cases does not hurt anything anyway.

Where can a Phramacist not sell pills due to their beliefs.
There are believe systems the would then allow taht pharmacist not to provide animal insulin, not to provide any pill that clouds the senses.
It would also allow any Catholic Pharmcists to refuse to dispense precription contracepties and over the counter ones.
A Christian Science could dispense nothing, since they don't beleive in Doctors and Medcines at all.
What universe are you in.
I want to know the country or state so I can look that law up.
Well now, here's a simple way to get around things. LEt's pass a law saying a TEACHER doesn't have to tell students about ANYTHING that violates their belief system. Thus if the whole school is Christian, no kill will ever get exposed to Darwin.
How's that for a solution!
Find out this silly state and have them pass that law for Teachers.

If its their own pharmacy, why should they be forced to sell something they don't want to sell? Would that mean all clothing retailers would have to sell Jacquelyn Smith clothes? I don't like her clothes, but that isn't the point. Business owners should have the right to decide what to sell and what not to sell. If its a chain and the pharmacist doesn't want to sell them, he'll get fired. You could just take the birth control pill and not have to worry about it. I don't get why people who can't even remember to take a pill get so many options because of their own stupidity. Rape is one thing, but face it, most of the people taking this pill won't be doing it because of rape, they'll be doing it because they're stupid. Guess expecting someone to be responsible is right up there with "hey stupid, go to another pharmacy". Just too much for the truly ignorant to figure out all by their lonesomes.

I think business owners should be allowed to run their businesses as they see fit regardless of the reasons. People put a lot of time and effort into starting and maintaining businesses. If the owner does not want to sell a particular item or serve a particular demographic, then he/she should not have to. If the owner has an employee that feels a different way, then that employee should do as the customer is capable of doing and leave. The government or special interests groups should not be allowed to tell the business owners what to do with their business unless they are also investors.

I don't believe stores are forced to sell cigarettes...and fast food clerks always have the option to quit their job.

Those who don't want to sell certain things to certain people should get out of the business of selling those things. I wouldn't get a job somewhere if I had strong beliefs about that kind of thing such as I wouldn't work in a liquir store since I don't believe that is something that we should be participating in.

Could the store's management insist that they sell the pills? For instance, a chain, like Walgreen, might demand their employees to ... yes?

you put out an interesting point of view.
i think that no one should let their moral objections get in the way of their job. if one truly objects, then I'd think they have to reconsider either their profession, or their moral standing.
