The best thing to do would be 2 cut your hair until there are no more split ends. Or do it gradually. A temp. fix would be to put conditioner through, or specific products that have split ends help on the title. like Garnier, or Pantene

For dry hair, a good thing I have found is VO 5 Hot Oil Treatment. There are several brands out there but I always thought this one was a little better. Just follow instructions on the pkg. You can usually find them at any store. That is for the dryness. You might want to do it once a month or so until it gets back in good shape.
As far as to make it grow faster, an old wives tale is trim your hair when the moon is full (lol). I do not know cause mine grows fast anyway. But I have heard there are vitamins for healthy hair and also for nails at places like Walmart. They are supposed to work well and are fairly inexpensive to try.
Good luck to you.

You need to get your haircut regulary about every 3-4 weeks. I know it may seem like it will never get long and you just keep cutting it but it the only way to keep it healthy and let it grow long. Once you have slpit ends they will continue to split and in the end just making your growing process longer!
Also, you should not blowdry and use heat on your hair everday. If you can help it wash your hair in the evening before you go to bed and then just curl it with a curling iron in the AM. OR if you are using a straightener you should ALWAYS be using a serum or styling aid to help evenly distribute the heat and help the hair glide evenly through the straightener. THe more stress you cause on your hair the more slpit ends you will have.
Make sure the shampoo you are using does not contain wheat or protein as to this will also cause excess drying and cause your hair to becore to brittle and break right off. You can use a protein based shampoo to help promote hair growth but alternate with an everyday moisturizing shampoo and conditioner.

The elements are enough to give you split ends eg the sun. Also if you swim a lot especially in a pool then you will be prone to getting split ends because of the chlorine and other chemicals used to treat the pool. If you do not take care of your hair you will also get split ends. Have your hair dresser clip the ends at least once a month. Make sure you treat the hair with a protein treatment and deep condition regularly. Deep conditioning allows moisture in the hair. Also, use a light hair conditioning spray with a sheen. Split ends usually occur when your hair gets dry and brittle then it will split right up to the roots and break. Here are a couple of sites. As soon as the problem is solved yourhair will grow. All the best!

NO product you purchase will ever get rid of split ends. They always need to be trimmed off. Once you have split ends they will keep getting worse unless they are trimmed. They will actually work themselves all the way up the hair. There are many ways to help from getting split ends. DO NOT ever brush or pull hair when it is wet, this is the worst. Hair is very week when it is wet. For example, when you pull your hair up in a band when it is wet, as it dries hair expands and has no place to go but break off then you have breakage where your band is. If you use alot of heat on your hair it does not hurt to give your hair a treatment once a week. Hair will also grow much better, not always faster, When you keep it trimmed up.

GNC has a supplement called "Nourishair" that makes the hair grow faster, you can read what's in it by googling it.
Also ProCaps labs sells a "hair skin and nails" formula that does the same thing, supports hair growth and health
If you take only Biotin alone, make sure you take at least 2.5 milligrams or 2500 micrograms [the same thing] a day because thats' a good amount to take. I use the Nourshair supplement from GNC now and my hair is growing faster than it did, but it took about 6 to 8 weeks of daily use to see results.

Hi, Im a student in the field of cosmetology,
Nothing can really make your hair grow longer. Ive looked. But there are things you can do to help it.
One thing is that if you straighten or use irons on your hair, like myself, deep condition your hair ALOT! I do it two to three times a week! Even if you dont have a deep conditioner you can use regular conditioner on your hair for an hour or more, this also works nicely. My hair became really strong after this.
Vitamins help too! Take a multivitamin and a vitamin B-complex.
Do not color your hair alot! It weakens your hair causing it to snap off. If you do need to though, dont forget to condition, condition, condition!!! Dont forget bleaching! That is one of the worste things you could do!!
Cutting your hair doesnt make it grow faster!!! All that does is remove the split ends.
Massage your scalp regularly, this helps with growth!! It helps circulate blood flow in the scalp, with premotes hair growth.
Hope this information was helpful :)

Trim off the split ends before they get worse and break off more hair, than if you had trimmed them in the first place. Without knowing if you use chemicals, heat, or both. I would use a hair products line, just for dry damaged hair.Hair is fed by the bodys blood. It grows acordingly. Eating well and drinking lots of water helps. Use something to protect your dry hair, like a leave in conditioner.

"Silicea" tablets, should be available At any Natural Food Store or Vitamin center. The cosmotoglogy student on here says nothing will make it grow faster, well she/he is wrong so keep doing your research sunshine, because this works. It repairs and strenghtens the connective tissue's needed for strong nails, clear skin, and healthy hair.
Slipt ends is your hairs way of committing suicide, you must be doing something to abuse it, or it would not die on you like that. It is smart to cut them off to promote quicker growth, or they will creep up and kill more hair. Trim your ends more often, that will really work best, and dont over condition like alot of these people are telling you, find out what works for your hair, and condition as needed. (If you can find now off the market "Lori's Perfection" from Lori Davis, it is the best **** ever for dry hair)

For dry hair, use a deep-conditioning treatment each time you wash your hair. This will help moisturize your hair. Then, get a trim to cut the split ends.
There's a vitamin called Biotin that's been said to help hair growth. The vitamin makes your nails and hair healthier, and because your hair is healthier it will grow at a steady pace.
