Name Origin Meaning Gender
Lew English Diminutive of Lewis: English variant of the Franco-Germanic name Louis: Famous warrior. In Wales, sometimes Lewis is used in place of Llewellyn. Famous Bearer: 19th century writer Lewis Carroll. Male
Lewis German Form of Louis. Famous in battle. Male

this is for the given name, but the surname likely means the same, or indicates that you are a descendant of someone with the name.

Its english. It kinda makes sence that your family lived in south america. The british colonies were down there and they often named their slaves after them too. The lewis and Eaton family were kinda tight. Both are very english.
