I love my Sony. I would give you the model, but it's about three years old, so I don't think they make my model anymore.

I love my Sony. Never had any problems. Going to upgrade to a later model and it will defiantly be another Sony.

no offense, but DONT CHOOSE BY BRAND!!! sorry, its just that so many people ask the same or similar question. the better way is to choose by what you are looking for. follow the list below
Cams-pick one
do you want to shoot and watch, and are not too concerned about editing or quality? buy a dvd cam.
do you want quality, and are not too concerned about editing and/or burning to dvd? buy a minidv cam.
Features-pick one
do you want to be able to shoot without worry about fiddling with the controls? choose a cam with automatic features.
do you want to be able to adjust what you are shooting manually? choose a cam with auto and manual features such as focus, shutter, aperture, white balance.
well those are the most basic questions, so take what you chose and go to www.camcorderinfo.com to find out more about that kind. and research all brands. also keep in mind to look for optical (not digital) zoom, 3ccds (for better quality), and audio jacks (if you would like better audio on your video). hope this helps!
