I let my daughter travel over seas for the first time when she was twelve. It was the People to People program and it turned out to be a great experience for her. Foreign travel also gave her the drive to learn more. She teaches Russian Lit and language at the college level, speaks about five other languages and is finishing up a Phd.

She went to the Soviet Union right after communism fell and the world had similar dangers to the ones they have now if that's your concern.

They had chaperones, and they toured in a three bus caravan, so she wasn't alone.

If your daughter has good chaperones and is mature enough to get a lot from the experience, let her go.

How old is your daughter? Why does she need to go there? Can you go with her? I wouldn't let my child out of this country without me, and even then I would debate it. Americans are not the most favored People. I'd really think about this. She is too far away for you to protect her.

Let her go let her see the world (how old is she) if you know she is a responsible young lady I say let her go!! I let my pre teen daughter go out of state without me and its good for her I have never been anywhere she has been to more places than me but that's a good thing you can't keep them locked up for ever traveling is a learning experience so go for it!!

17+ let her go or she will choose for herself and this could damage an adult relationship with your daughter which you should have by this age. For all those mentioning dangers of other countries, no country is more violent, etc. than the good old USA.

you have to really think about it, you know how the world is in this days,I'm not saying that everybody is bad people, but you can see for yourself how girls are been raping kidnapping.unless you know this family she's going with and you trust them, then can be a nice thing of you letting her go ,but first you have to put the cards on the table and see the good and bad things that can come with this trip and you can explain to your daugther and both can agree what is better. hope this will help. :}

It would help if I knew her age and to know if it is for a short period of time or to move there. If she is underage, don't let her go, if she is an adult she can make up her own mind whether she wants to or not.

I don't know. Going to a different country can be dangerous, especially if you are young. Look into it as much as you can and make an informed decision.
