I have a sony cybershot that is a 4mega pixel.. its got good quality and it also records mpeg movies, i have a 512 megabyte memory card with it and can record up to 1000 pictures or 12 minutes of video, i have been very happy with this camera, easy to use, menus are simple and the pictures are great... i paid $400 for the camera alone and $50 for the memory card, that was a few years ago, i have seen this same camera at best buy and walmart for around $150

comes with a very small 16mb card that holds about 16 pics and two rechargable batteries with a battery charger, sony computer software

Fuji. You don't need a lot of mega pixels, 5 or 6 will do just fine. Most of the time you will take pictures with a 2 mega pixels. any thing else will use up to much memory and isn't needed for viewing on a CD or printing on a 4x6. Your next biggest expense will be a 1gig card for your camera. You should be able to come out for about $250 with both. Fuji also comes with a real good program for your computer. Be sure and get rechargeable batteries and always keep a spare set with the camera.
