After being married for 13 years and getting tired of being alone. I 've been wondering how do I get back into the dating game? When a man tells me that he wants to get to know me, I put up an instant wall. I know I am afraid of being hurt again and I am in no mood for the many games men tend to play. How do I get pass this wall that I have enclosed myself in?

Take your chances on getting hurt, its the only way to love again and be happy with life. Learn to trust again. I know its hard. Good Luck!!! Its the worst feeling to be alone, I feel for you.

Take your time. Just let the gentlemen caller know that you want to be friends first and then let nature take it's course. If you were meant to be together, then you will be. If not, atleast you made a friend. And you can never have enough friends.
So, sure you can go out with anyone of your choice, just let the guy know up front that you don't kiss or make out on a first date and take it from there.
This might sound old fashioned, but Honey, It works even today.
I hope this helps you get out of that closet you're hiding in. Just be as honest with them as you would want him to be with you.

Good question. I just got out a 6 year relationship last year before going on deployment. Now that I'm back, I'm wondering the same thing.

well everything takes time...eventually you will be ready to date again and who knows maybe get serious again..but not yet its too soon..if youre putting up walls then youre for sure not ready yet..if you meet someone worth your time then get to know him go out talk see where it goes and give him a chance ..not all men are assholes and will treat you nasty there are some good ones out there i finally found myself one after 2 marriages yup 2..lol so give your heart a chance to heal and your head a chance to clear then get out there and have some fun /....

get wise to all the man games - play the games back...because men play games whether you want them too or not.
Read this book, "why men love bitches" - it helped me know what was up after living under a marraige rock for 12 yrs.
