people in this world have become materialistic. The more you have the better, which is contrary to the values of the God.

Society has gotten away from God and from what God wants from us. Because society has gotten away from God, everywhere you look materilism has taken over and society has told us in different ways that they only way that we are successful is by how much we have.

True, but you own the computer you use to post this question, right? Does that make you materialistic? I think we buy things to make our lives easier or more enjoyable. Is that a sin? I don't know. I still donate my time and money to help those in need. I still show love and compassion for fellow humans. I believe in the Word of the Lord and I try to live the Word of the Lord as much as possible. By the way, my computer was free. My brother works for a place that replaces their computers often and he shared an old one with me.

What actually makes people materialistic, is the culture that they're in -- not something innate about being human.
Mankind, actually, is primarily spiritual. We are all mortal. We can look into the past, and see / experience the thinking of the great minds that have gone before us -- like Plato, Kepler, Beethoven (and others of course), and then reflect on our own lives as to what we do with our lives, that will live beyond our mortal existence?
As the saying goes, "You can't take it with you...."

I couln't care less about you god.
In any society where wealth is the highest value, people will be greedy. If wisdom were the highest value...No, they still wouln't be wise, but I think they'd behave better.
