--To prove that Koran promotes unjustified killing.??
I have read the Koran and I have read the Bible. There are verses
in the Koran--where God is telling Muslims to kill infidels. I admit that. But---what are the contexts of those verses. That is important.
Those people who quote those verses out of context have some agenda. And that agenda is insane. For thousands of years--the Muslim Exegetes explained those verses. Nobody intepreted them so as --that those verses were about killing INFIDELS just for they are INFIDELS. For example:
2:190 Fight in the way of Allah against those who fight against you, but begin not hostilities. Lo! Allah loveth not aggressors. "Fight in the way of Allah against those who fight against you."

"But begin not hostilities."
2:191 And slay them wherever ye find them, and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution is worse than slaughter. And fight not with them at the Inviolable Place of Worship until they first attack you there, but if they attack you (there) then slay them. Such is the reward of disbelievers. (191-2)
Kill disbelievers wherever you find them. If they attack you, then kill them. Such is the reward of disbelievers. (But if they desist in their unbelief, then don't kill them.)
2:192 But if they desist, then lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
Is Allah kind and merciful?
2:193 And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for Allah. But if they desist, then let there be no hostility except against wrong-doers.
So, if you just quote "And slay them wherever ye find them,"
it will mean something else. In those verses God is ordering
The Prophet(PBUH) to fight against the Non-Muslims who were persecuting them at that time(and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution is worse than slaughter).
What you will do if you are attacked and driven away from your country????
No, in no way Koran is a book of unjustified killing. Bible is.
You have just to read Genesis to Deuteronomy.

answer to Mike A:
if u can't answer don't answer. but don't give stupid answers. what are the source of your INDISPUTABLE FACTS?? The Prophet(PBUH) started the HOLY WAR well before conquering Mecca. Can you give me-your proof that the verses that I quoted referred to JEWS or Christians. Not a single Jew or Christian were converted by force by The Prophet(PBUH). And the fact is many Jews and Christians did convert by choice.

Nuu, I don't feel bad. You don't feel bad. We don't need to quote Bible out of context. It is very easy for
us to quote murderously insane verses from the BIBLE
IN CONTEXT.

Isn't the FUGLY TERRORIST G.W.BUSH an example of a CHRISTIANITY?? Isn't the THE MURDEROUS CRUSADERS,INQUISITORS,KKK and HITLER examples of CHRISTIANITY?? You live in NT but do you deny and reject OT??? We deny OT as anything reliable. Do you also?
So-called Muslim Terrorists are just a reaction of
the world-wide theft, plunder and real terrorism by the neo-con Christian neo-Crusaders. The Christians are responsible for 1000 times more killing than the Muslims.

Anybody who deliberately misquotes the Qur'an or the Bible is obviously up to no good. Of course, people can interpret the text in various ways but to manipulate it in order to influence its interpretation for others is evil. Neither the Bible or the Qur'an advocates needless killing. It's the religious leaders, who contort the messages presented in order to brainwash the masses, who make a religion seem insidious. The Christian leaders did it during the crusades and the extremist Muslim leaders are doing it now through terrorism. These corrupt leaders use people's faith to manipulate them. They're successful as long as the people are ignorant and kept uneducated. They provide the information to the masses and say it's God's/Allah's will that non-believers should be killed, when in reality, it is their own selfish will. They do it to stay in power. Unless people become educated and are able to interpret those books on their own, the corrupt leaders will continue to mislead them.

It is not so much what you say, but what you do that gets to most of us..
For instance this Imam Al Sadr and his troops that have been killing people for a long time. Isn't he an example of Islam??
and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Iran, isn't he an example of Islam and president of a Islamic country?? These people are in the news daily and Al Sadr is having people killed daily in Iraq. These are the things that speak so loudly that it doesn't matter what you argue. Iraq is DAILY killing 30 to 50 people with bombers. This is what speaks loudly.
Sorry but to argue definitions while all these folks are killing in the name of Islam just isn't going to do much good.
The Muslim population needs to police its own people and stop all of this violence..
You quote the Old Testament of the Bible, but we live in the New Testament so you are quoting something that we do not do today and we are quoting something that you are living daily in the news.. There have been very few people that have claimed to be christian terrorists, but daily there is muslim terrorist actions..
Today in Thailand there were 50 bombs exploded by muslim terrorists. I am sorry for you if you are peaceful, but there is just too much violence by people claiming to be muslims..

I'm not going to justify your point of view on the Bible, mainly because I haven't read it. But I agree with your statement that people purposefully quote verses of the Koran out of context. I believe it is because they know the Quran is peacefull and tolerant and if they were to paste the entire quote, it would show that. However, by pasting just part of it, they can manipulate it. In reality, it just shows their ignorance, lack of education, and their evil intentions.

You lack understand. Scholars and experts divide Muhammad's life into four parts. Yes, he started peacefully when spreading Islam. Then, after conquering Mecca, he realized he could not convert Jews and Christians.

His final answer was offensive war (Jihad) and if they would not convert, to kill them. Period. This is indisputable facts.

Muhammad's dying words, "May Allah curse the Jews and Christians".

Dont feel bad..., Muslims, Athiests and others quote the Bible out of context to start fights and arguments - so I suppose people who quote your koran out of context have the same purpose in mind.

Turn about is not so fun, is it?

it's clear in God's own words how he wants us Muslims to treat our fellow people of faith (people of the book)

O believers: if a wicked person comes to you with any news, ascertain the truth, lest ye harm people unwittingly and afterwards become full of repentance for what ye have done. T.Q., Sura 49, verse 6.

O mankind, revere your Guardian-Lord Who created you from a single Person, created of like nature, [His] mate, and from them twain scattered countless men and women T.Q. Sura 4, The Women, verse 1.

O humankind! We created you from a single [pair] of a male and female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise each other). Verily the most honored of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you T.Q. Sura 49, The Inner Apartments, verse 13.

O ye who believe! Stand out firmly for Allah, as witnesses to fair dealing, and let not the hatred of others to you make you swerve to wrong and depart from justice. Be just: that is next to piety: and fear Allah. For Allah is well-acquainted with all that ye do T.Q. Sura 5, The Table Spread, verse 8.

The Messenger [Muhammad] believes in what has been revealed to him from his Lord, as do the [people] men of faith. Each one [of them] believes in Allah, His angels, His books, and His Messengers. 'We make no distinction' (they say) between one and another of his Messengers, And they say: 'We hear and we obey: [we seek] thy forgiveness, our Lord, and to Thee is the end of all journeys T.Q. Sura 2, The Cow. verse 285.

To thee We sent the Scripture in truth, confirming the scripture that came before it, and guarding it in safety. T.Q. Sura 5, The Table Spread, verse 48.

Say Ye: 'We believe in Allah, and the revelation given to us, and to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and that given to Moses and Jesus, and that given to (all) Prophets from their Lord; We make no difference between one and another of them and we bow to Allah in adherence and submission. T.Q., Sura 2, The Cow, verse 136.

and nearest among them in love to the Believers wilt thou find those who say 'We are Christians' T.Q., Sura 5, The Table Spread, verse 82.

Let there be no compulsion in religion, Truth stands out clear from Error: whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy handhold, that never breaks. T.Q., Sura 2, The Cow, verse 256.
