The car drives smooth, power everything+remote key&trunk+ alarm and the inspection is due at the end of May 2007 !
It was Inspected in PA(so I think you know that the PA State Inspection is very severe!!!) it has NO RUST!!! It has ONLY 70K!!! It's a SE which is way better on gas than SSE or SSEI and also has plenty of power !! Retail price on Kelly Blue Book is over $4000 and on Nada it goes up to $5200 and you can go on the following link: http://www.nadaguides.com/default.aspx?LI=7923-21-1-5014-660-634-50306&l=7923&w=21&p=1&f=5014&m=1143&d=912&y=1995&c=16&mi=69900&vi=12973&da=-1&nx=1)!!!
I'm sure I won't get on it as the retail on Nada or KBB above, but at a dealer, his price was....like better to keep the car and to not sell it!
Any idea, folks?
Thanks

A dealer is only going to pay wholesale for your vehicle. The NADA retail figure that you show is wish money (I wish I could get NADA prices for anything I sell retail) Your car (allowing for low miles) is worth around $2500 or less wholesale.

If you want retail price for a vehicle, you have to sell it retail. Put an ad in the paper or in the autotrader (print and web). You will have to deal with the lookers, the tire kickers, and the folks who call and never show up. You also should have any required local (CT) inspections done.

PA inspection is not nearly as hard as MD. I buy cars in PA with fresh PA inspections, and still end up spending $500-$1000 to get the car through MD inspection!!

This is because the new cars are so greatly discounted the dealers have a hard time reselling them. An example of this is a guy I worked with bought a new truck 2 years ago for $36,000 a year later that same model but a year newer could be bought for $26,000 at this time he still owed more money on his truck than the brand new one sitting on the dealers lot. Some used cars sitting on the dealers lots one year old with low miles are going for half of their original Price one year earlier. That's just the way the economy is right now.

Because you are like most others and use kbb retail which unless the car is privately sold or sold thru a dealer ain't gonna get it.

The value on your car is $1600 trade in as per KBB.com and is what the dealer will offer you only.

To get that retail price you are gonna have to sell it yourself and I don't expect unless you are willing to sit on it, more than about $4500 from an individual

Also loan offices are very reluctant to issue loans on cars older than about 7 years old ... so you will probably hold it for a good while

sorry for the bad news

Run an ad in your local newspaper. Also put a for sale sign in the windshield. Always better to sell the car privately than to any Dealer. You will make much more money. Look to see too if your state carries The Auto Recycler. Great place to advertise and you can include a photo of the car.

keep in mind that dealers make their money selling cars, not buying cars

try selling it yourself through eBay or local classifieds, you'll have better odds
