GO TO WALMART! The food is cheap!

Bread & jelly--for breakfast--(1.99 bread & the store brand small jelly for like $1.50)

4 "roll packs" of Ground Turkey--for 1.99 each
you can do ALOT with ground meat--meatballs, sausages, hamburgers, and meatloaf--thats 4 meals..(look for the meat that comes in the roll 'log looking'-- tube thing..If they arent at Walmart--go to a "save a lot" or another cheap store..
DONT buy that expensive ground meat in a fancy pack.

3 packs of hotdogs--about 1.25 each
Bread for the hotdogs--1.99
small thing of ketchup--1.25

Spaghetti--.50 cents
Cans of tomotoe sauce, --2 for 1 dollar
NOT the 'already made' sauce in a jar

2 cartons of eggs--1 dollar each (for breakfast)
(& make egg sandwiches to take to work for lunch)

Cheap cheese slices--.99 cents (for the eggs)

a few can of vegetables to go with dinner---get the store brand 5 for 2 dollars

Abode Seasoning--1.25 (for the meat)

Stay out expensive grocery stores.. You'll be fine--we've ALL been there.

Peace

Raman noodles, bread, bologna, pinto beans, macaroni, potatoes. You can refrigerate pinto beans and reheat them. I've been here before, and it's not much fun. Sorry you have to go through this. You could also buy flour and shortening and make biscuits to eat with pinto beans. Oh and don't forget eggs. You can always have egg sandwiches or make eggs and gravy, or even eggs and fried potatoes. Wait I'm starting to think I'm becoming an expert on eating cheap. But I have four kids and my husband to cook for and he's the only one that works so you learn how to scrape by when you have to. The important thing is that you don't go hungry not what you eat. I have also learned how to make lots of things at home myself (cinnamon rolls, cookies, biscuits, brownies) stuff like that a lot cheaper than buying it pre-made in stores. Check out allrecipes.com. Hope this helps you some.

Wow, that's not alot of money in today's standards. My husband and I live on a shoe string budget also and we eat alot of beans (legumes) like lentil soups and mix them sometimes with egg noodles and cook chicken and piece that up and put it into soups with the beans. I opt to eat healthy as opposed to things like Top Ramon and such, that's sooooooo bad for your body! If you have to be on a shoe string budget, make it healthy not fattening. Their are tons of cookbooks that help you use the beans for healthy cooking. Even the Internet helps with how to use them. Once you get used to eating this way you'll feel much better about your health, make it a lifestyle change, not a temporary thing. We've been eating this way for a long time and Ive lost alot of weight also using this way of eating! Your not starving, just readjusting.

It obviously depends which country you live in! In germany no problem for me! In america though you go on sale grocery shopping, and i would try to get free food, at my friends houses or at work and 2 weeks are gone like nothing! (oh if you really wanna save money and don't care about the quality,(i prefer quality), you shall be shopping at a dollar store, or borough money from freinds and family)! :-)

Shop at Aldies if you have one in your area, they are so cheep. Try Tuna fish, Peanut Butter, Whole wheat Bread (it is a little more expensive, but you will get some fiber), Eggs. Raman noodles are always a cheep meal. Also, if you have a public market in your town go there, it is always cheaper buying right from the farmer.

Sugar, Flour, Rice and sausages. The basics. I can make near anything with Flour, like bread or dumplings. Sugar makes anything taste good even water with a few drops of lime that I stole from the neighbors tree. I have lemon aid. Sausages that can go with anything like the rice or bread. It's heaven.

Ramen noodles, corn chips, one apple or one banana from a grocery store per day(26 cents at a grocery store, 50 cents at most convenient stores.) for essential vitamins, find a public water fountain for something to drink. Clip coupons wherever you can find them.

I'd buy:
day old bread, a few loaves and freeze them! They will stay fresh this way when you're ready for it! Half the price!(50-75 cents per loaf)
drink tap water-free!
peanut butter
spaghetti pasta(cheapest brand)
elbow macaroni
spaghetti noodles
butter(cheapest)
Bon appetite!
