Morning sickness usually begins once the HCG hormone that sustains the life of the embryo reaches a level that you are feeling its effects too.

This can happen as early as two weeks and or as late as a month or two.

One of the most important things is to stay hydrated. Dehydration during the first three months usually leads to a not so good feeling tummy. Drinking enough water helps to dilute the HCG in your blood stream (The baby is getting plenty, believe me) and helps you to not feel so bleh!

Once the baby's liver and heart are well established (At about the three month mark) then the production of HCG declines and the babies vital organs take over. This is why women tend to feel so much better after the third month.

Enjoy! This is an exciting time.

Mine started at 6 weeks and lasted until 22 weeks. It was long and awful. I now know that your dr can give you something for it, but the medications are still a bit controversial.
