colorful patterns would be a good way to decorate. This is more timeless than a "themed" room and can be more or less eccentric based on number of patterns and colors going on.

It really depends on which way your tween is eccentric.

This is an ideal opportunity for you to sit down with (her?) and throw ideas around. This way you will be able to customise a theme to her own ideas and she will have ownership of the room.

I'd take her to the fabric store and let her pick a fabric that she just loves. Pull the wall color and the accessory colors out of that fabric and just have fun. If the fabric has a pattern in it that is cool do that pattern ( or something that mocks it) on one of the walls.

What is your tween into? If they like, let's say, rubber ducks, you could do a menagerie of different types of them throughout the room, painted, collected, stuffed, etc.

check out old and different things.and mix them together with all diff colors.go for really old decor and blend with new show yourself in it and it will look great...
