If you mean: "to have them mate" then I would say please do not even consider that. Others have answered that better than I can and the people who are advising against it are correct.

If you meant: "to have them MEET" then I would suggest you let them choose their own time. Don't leave them unsupervised together for the first few weeks, just to make sure that some injury doesn't happen.

Make sure the older cat KNOWS that he isn't being replaced and be extra attentive to him.

If the 1-year old is as good as you say, there won't be too much trouble. He'll probably look on the kitten as a little brother/sister and take him under his wing (so to speak). I expect they will become great buddies, but there might be some fireworks in the beginning, which is completely normal.

Please hug them both for me and keep a camera handy for some priceless moments of "bonding".

Bless you for bringing in a companion for your 1-year old.

Relax and enjoy the unfolding of a brand new friendship!

All will be well.

To the first guy who answered your post, " that's immoral because of their age difference~!"
I hope that you've got the necessary essentials like two litter boxes as most cats don't like to share the bathroom and separate food and drinking dishes. It's inevitable that some hostility will be foremost, the best way I believe is to introduce them gradually by putting your kitten in a room away from the one year old for a day with the travel crate you brought her in for familiarity purposes. Give her own food & water & her litter box. Your older cat will sense the kitten and may prowl outside the door and show signs of aggression.
It's important during this time to give extra attention to the older cat to minimize stress and anxiety.
Place your older cat away for awhile in his favourite corner of the house to give the new comer a chance to explore your house. When the kitten seems comfortable enough, allow the animals to meet. Let them sniff each other out but stay in the room and if either one shows hostility, separate them again and try it another day, expect some hissing and growling and don't punish either if it don't work out the first time. Eventually they should become commonplace with each other.
Plan to make equal relationships with each cat to prevent jealousy. Great parenting!

Is "m" supposed to be "mate"? Are you really asking how to mate a "six week old" kitten? Or is this an incomplete question?Kitten's CAN'T mate. She has to be old enough to have her first "heat" and that still isn't a good time to mate such a young cat. Around 6 months she should show signs of being in "heat". It is always recommended that any animal pass their first heat cycle for the over-all health and benefit to both the mother and the the babes.

You've got a good close age match there. The fact that the older cat is male also bodes well for a good match.

Kitten will probably adore the older brother and will accept some discipline from him without problems. At first the older one will let the kitten and you know that he is less than pleased with this intrusion on his territory.

All the dust up should be settled in a matter of days.

Is this mate.....If it is the poor cat needs to grow up first. But if you are wondering if they will get along it will take about 1 week. your 1 year old may hiss and be upset for brining home a new kitty but he will get over it quickly and be good friends...but if you want to mate the cats you need to wait until she is older.

I answered this on your new question. Sorry most people here are a'holes. Anyone with common sense would have realized you weren't asking how to mate a 6 week old kitten.

Welll.. as far as the little kitty, he will be happy to see his older brother but the older cat (even at one year) might not be happy to see competition in the house.. but.. as I have always experienced, they will get along well within a week.. make sure you give both of them love
