Sideways had more than one level. I guess that's why it was best picture. On the surface it was funny....but it was also sad. A sad look at the lives of two middleaged unhappy men lacking in morals.
I think those who didn't like it went thinking it was a comedy and then were disappointed that it was also a look at some tragic lives.

Yes, I enjoyed it very much. It's one of those movies that I'll watch now whenever I come across it on the dial, at what ever point it's at. Paul Giamatti deserves this shot that has now made him a leading man. Score one for the "everyman".

I LOVED IT-especially the part where he is mad and goes to the winery and wants a full pour and when the guy didn't give it to him, he drank the spit bucket!!!!!!!!!!!!!!AHHH!The ending was funny too with the naked guy running- ewww-there were a lot of funny parts. I may just go rent it again!!

I liked it a lot, but my parents hated it. It's more of an artsy, abstract kind of movie, and people who aren't really in touch with theatrics and such dont like it.

You know i just couldn't get into that movie. I watched it and thought OK why did it win. But this year I did love CRash

the worst movie ever i cant believe they classified it as a comedy there wasnt one funny part in the whole movie
