About a year ago my niece started looking for scholarship and grant funds for her daughter. In the course of her research she found out that because they had some Native American Indian blood in them, she qualified for government money of some sort.

You might see if there are any similar sources based on your ethnicity.

Also, maybe the school can put him in touch with companies that recruit from the campus and if they can negotiate a contract that would put him on the payroll for 2-3-5 years or something. In return they help with his expenses...??

Good luck!

Are there any college programs for students with children at that university. I know in CA there are programs like EOPS which helps students of low-income or are in positions like you son where education can be difficult. Many colleges (especially community colleges) have day-care assistance that provide quality day care services to students w/ children. Since he's independent he should qualify for financial aid. He may qualify for some helpful grants(don't have to repay) and loans(w/ low interest rates).

you can try this website:

www.fastweb.com

it gives lists of scholarships. i take it he has already applied for the federal financial aid. if he is attending community college, he might be able to get a fee wavier (california cc's have them, not sure about ohio).

anyway, take a look at the website. hope that helps.
