He put so much stuff in my shed I can't get to my bike or lawn mower - so when I suggest he put some of it in my friends pole barn he got so mad he walked out the front door of the resturant and I got my keys and walked out the back and drove home (we came in seperate cars).... Why is he being so unreasonable???

I don't know but the restaurant manager called the police on both of you.

Because he is immature. Unfortunately, you are going to have to be the "adult" and approach him to resolve the situation. You will have to come to him and explain to him calmly that his behavior had you worried because you thought that the solution you had was a fair solution. Tell him that you are not attacking him, but that you need access to your shed.
If he still is upset (and I do not know why since you are doing him a favor by holding his stuff), you might want to seriously reassess his behavior and whether you two are right for each other.
