I believe as you do, that I have the truth. Iam not like my brothers and sisters, I do not believe we will be the only ones in heaven. All people are welcome to worship in our churches, but some say we are under bondage because we do not dress as the world and speak with other tongues, we are strong women how else could we stand your snickers when you see us in public.

My Dress Code : Timothy 2:9 -10
In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold,or pearls, or costly array; But (which becometh women proffessing godliness) with good works. [ Oh, Oh there's that works word again!!!!!] We believe that speaking in tongues is evidence of the infilling of the Holy Ghost, but I too believe it is only one gift. It is hard for people to understand that this,& use this gift properly.
John 1:1 In the begining was the Word, and the Word was with God,and the Word was God. {John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory of the only begotten of the Father)full of grace and truth.} 1John5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the holy Ghost; and these three are one. GOD BLESS

People condemn those who stand fast for God in His precepts because the Spirit of God convicts them.

Dear Sister: What you are thinking is persecution is not anything serious. How you dress is nothing, look at how the Muslims make their women dress..
My wife uses long dresses and I am also modest in my dress. Have they tried to kill you yet?? Have they taken away your home? Have they put your pastor in jail??
Don't get worried because of a little problem on dressing to please the Lord. I get made fun of because I won't dress in shorts or go among women bare chested and I am not under bondage but want to be looked upon with favor by my Lord and not be immodest among the people..
Please the Lord and not man. Real persecution is coming and not far in the future and that will begin to seperate the wheat from the chaff..
Rev 2:10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
Rev 2:11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.

Hello I am non-denominational but also I am full gospel, I have alot of Pentecostal friends. The only thing i see with that I disagree with is how Pentecostal's believe that you HAVE to speak in tounges to go to heaven, and how Pentecostal's always tell new christians to read Acts first because that is the book in the bible where the holy spirit fell the most, not that this is bad I actually love being in the presence of God and I do believe in speaking in tounges, but toungues is only 1 of the gifts that God could give you not the only gift. Pentacostals just put an emphesis on toungues. Which it never says in the bible that someone had to speak in tounges. Paul actually said in prison that speaking in tounges is good but prophesy is better. The reason one of my friends stopped going to a Pentecostal church is because the pastor came over to their house and told his mom that she was going to hell because she smoked. That is it. I don't think they are brainwashed it is mostly just how someone is brought up in life.

I don't snicker. I just think it is sad that you are being taught that manner of dress and speaking in tongues is a requirement for salvation. Oneness Pentecostalism is a works based salvation to where you never have assurance of being saved. Aside from that, the Oneness Doctrine is not the God of the bible. For instance, one of the cornerstone verses for supporting the Oneness doctrine is John 10:30 that says, "I and my Father are one." Oneness Pentecostalism interprets the word "one" as in meaning a numerical one rather then one as in unity. Think this through, if the word one in that context was speaking of a numerical one, it would have to read as the following. "I am my own Father". If Jesus was the Father, he would not have said. I AND MY Father are one. Clearly Jesus is not saying he is his own Father.

I'm a Foursquare Pentecostal. People say we're brainwashed too and attack us for what we believe in. So I totally sympathize with you and think you're absolutely right. It takes a strong person to stand up to the world and to the Devil -- it takes an independent thinker to reject the Devil's lies and to choose God instead even when most of the world makes fun of us for it. Keep the faith sister and blessings.

Another oneness Christian - hello there from a Swedenborgian Christian.
The Father, Son and Holy Spirit is like the soul, the body and the works in a single person.
The trinity is God's trine nature, not multiple persons, personalities or multiple bodies.

I am glad you are seeking for the truth. I am glad everyone i welcome in your Churches. I am glad you don't think you are better than me (non-denom). But as the part about dressing like the world. Read 1 Corinthians 9:19-23. Basically Paul is saying that he embraced peoples culture in order to reach them. If you read Acts 17:16-34 you will find Paul discussed his "new doctrine" with the philosophers of the time and he even quoted one of their poets. He was using pop culture to minister to people. So it is important that you embrace people's culture in order to share the gospel to them but at the same time we need to obey God. There is no commandment saying that we have to embrace a culture to reach them so you are free to dress how you wish. 1Corinthians 14:1-18 (especially verse 12). I don't think you are weird cause you speak in tongues i just think you could be spending your time more wisely. i think speaking in tongues is good and great but i also think that it is something to be done in private. My grandma used to belong in a Pentecostal church and one of my good friends used to attend the same church. i mostly don;t like the idea that someone needs to be able to speak in tongues in order to go to heaven. I have spoken in toques before and it was cool but i didn't gain anything from it. Speaking in tongues isn't the only gift the spirit can give you when he enters you. I have been given an amazing vision before. I gained a lot more form that because i can apply it to my life. Don't get me wrong when i say you could be spending your time more wisely. I don't you could be spending it playing video games or shopping i mean you could be spending that time praying or reading your bible. Paul is really kind of talk to you when he says "Even so you, since you are zealous for spiritual gifts, let it be for the edification of the church that you seek to excel". Speaking in tongues in public is a tiny bit annoying to me cause it feel like they are trying to show off. And since i can't understand them i can't say amen to anything they say. And another reason why i am skeptical of Pentecostal church is because not everyone can speak in tongues and that is fine but in a Pentecostal church people may be tempted to fake it and then they would be lieing to God.

It doesn't matter what people think, say or do to you. What matters is what God thinks; whether we have a personal walk with Jesus. All else is not to worry about. I'm protestant. I grew up in a community of Amish. They were lovely people. I have been in pentecostal churches, catholic churches, Old Order Baptist Churches, Amish and Mennonite churches. God is not concerned with what we wear but what we are in our hearts. What matters is that we love God and love people.

i think your church is great. i belong to a progressive baptist church, where we have plenty of people who speak in tongues, and we certainly dont believe we will be the only ones in heaven. the way you dress is your own concern, i have several friends who are united pentecostal, and i surely dont consider them brainwashed. some people are just ignorant of any way but the worlds way.
