Why do men want to have their cake and eat it to? I wanted to be exclusive with him but he said we should become 'best friends' first. So he pries into my business and it comes out that I was going on a date. Now he's mad and doesn't want to talk to me. What gives/

That's how most of the guys I know act too. It seems to me they want what they have, but they also want the option to get out of it, "in case something better comes along". That's what every single guy I know said when I asked them a similar question.

You answered your own question...he wants to have his cake and eat it too. He wants to go out and do his thing, but he wants you to wait for him and only do things with him. Sounds like he is insecure and really possessive...better watch out!!
