Hey guys. I'm prescribed to taking 50 mg of Zoloft every 24 hours in the morning. I usually took at at 7:00 am every day. The thing is, I missed the time to take it and took it asap at 1:00 pm. But now I want to go back to taking it at 7:00 am. If I took a pill at 1:00 pm today, is it okay if I take it when I wake up at 7:00 am tomorrow? It would be 18 hours instead of 24. Thank you in advance!

Yes, that is safe and advisable. You want ot stick to your schedule and try tto take your meds at the same time every day.. IT will be mroeeffective that way but s*** happens... I would not be dangerous to take zoloft at 18 hours... It sounds like this wasn't planned so don't make it a habit but it is ok when it happens on occasion...

The minimum effective dose is 50 mg per day, but lower doses may be used in the initial weeks of treatment to acclimate the patient's body, especially the liver, to the drug and to minimize the severity of any side effects. Patients who do not experience relief of symptoms at 50 mg a day may have their dose increased, up to 200 mg a day.

I think you would be fine to go ahead and take it at 7am like normal, just dont make it a habit. The thing to do is if you miss a dose wait till the next day and take that dose, see what I mean, just skip the missed dose, and you will be fine. That is what the doc told me and it worked fine.
