She wants him to paint our bedroom and put down some new carpet. Well he has 'mental problems' and used to steal her panties when they were teenagers. Sometimes he would wear them on his head, other times he would cut them up to make capes for his GI Joes.
He's supposedly 'better' now but I am not comfortable with this...still he needs the money.
What do I do?

Well I would try and help him get a job. You can finance him forever with work around this house and if you don't feel comfortable then tell your wife to respect this! Tell her a temporary check is not going to help him and she can help him better with supporting him emotionally and whatever she can to help in with a steady job.

You have to move everything out of the room to lay down carpet anyway, so look at it more like, Will he do a good quality job painting and putting down carpet in this empty room? If you think he would do a good job, then I would let him come over sometime when you are home and your wife is off someplace else. If you don't think he would do a good, quality job, then just tell your wife that you are OK with comming over to help out, but you don't think that you would get a good professional look that you want. This way no one's feelings are hurt!

The person who has the problem has the solution.
If he is still a bit nuts then paint the bedroom yourself and have someone lay the carpet down.
I have cousins I would not invite to my house and two of my sister in laws are not allowed in either. One because she is a crack wo and the other because she got up in my face and screamed at me when she could have just said it in an adult manner.

I think that you should hire him if he does fine work, but you should set up a few tests to decide if he really is better or not.
For example, you should dye your wife's panties brown in certain spots to make it appear that she did not frequent the restroom or did not make it to the restroom in time. For added effect, dip the panties in water or a foul-scented liquid. If Leroy still does anything as you've described with these "adjusted" panties, you can be sure that he is in fact "not better."

ITalk to your wife communication is the key. Tell her how you feel.Let her know you r not comfortable with him doing work in your home.Suggest other alternatives for him to earn money.
