It could be some kind of feline dermatitis, a fungus, an underlying illness....sometimes cats pick out their own hair, but I don't think yours would be able to pick the hair out of the back of her neck. I'd take her to the vet.

She may have fleas or some type of skin infection, if the latter being the case I would suggest to take her to a vet for a thorough check-up. But I suspect fleas..

Cats shed spring and fall. If you believe the shedding is excessive, check in with the vet.
