o k when ur serving the volleyball over the net in a game
how long do u have to serve after the ref blows the whistle?? plz answer because our team is getting ripped off by some ref because they dont like our school (none of the refs xcept one likes our school)

what's the problem, just serve the dang ball. its not hard really. make sure you're ready and looking at the ref when he blows the whistle. then serve it. if anyone seriously needs to take more than 0.5 seconds to serve the ball (even a jump serve) then you might wanna pick up a different sport, cuz obviously volleyball's not for you. Even the most difficult serve is pretty simple. I'm not even sure if i believe that this is a real question.

most of the time you have about 5 seconds in high school volleyball...about the refs favoring the other schools, you should just make sure that you serve the ball in 5 seconds so there is no chance for him/her to make horrible calls on your team.

omg well that sucks that the refs hate your school, but our coach explained it to us, and once the ref blows the wistle you have exactly 5 seconds to serve the ball. best of luck dealing with those refs!!! (:

5 seconds is true. I just looked it up Thursday to tell my team before our first high school varsity game of the year.
