God created everything—and yes, this means He also created the dinosaurs. They aren't mentioned in the Bible, however, since they were extinct by the time it was written. I also don't know why God let them become extinct (although I'm not sorry He did; I'd hate to have a hungry dinosaur peek over the fence at me!).
The Bible makes it clear that nothing happened on earth by accident; everything was created by God, and was in accordance with His perfect design. The very first verse of the Bible says, "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth" (Genesis 1:1). The Bible also tells us that Christ was given the assignment of actually creating the universe, and "without him nothing was made that has been made" (John 1:3).
Is Christ the center of your life? If not, open your heart to Him tonight! You will never regret it.

I heard an interesting theory. It says that God "recreated" the Earth in seven days. The theory is basically that the Earth had existed before Adam and Eve. When Satan fell there was a battle in Heaven and Satan was thrown down to Earth. The "original " Earth was destroyed in this battle. So Dinosaurs existed in this "original" Earth. And this could be a reason for the fossils. And once the original Earth was destroyed God recreated it for man.Like I said, It's just a theory. You also have to remember that there are alot of things that are not mentioned in the Bible. Also the Bible is to show us about God and help us understand Him. It's not a science book.

Some say this passage in the bible refers to dinosaurs
Job 40:15-18
15 “Look now at the behemoth,[a] which I made along with you;
He eats grass like an ox.
16 See now, his strength is in his hips,
And his power is in his stomach muscles.
17 He moves his tail like a cedar;
The sinews of his thighs are tightly knit.
18 His bones are like beams of bronze,
His ribs like bars of iron.
I also believe that the reason the dinosaurs became extinct is because after the flood since there was only two of every animal many dinosaurs ran out of food to eat. There is more to this. But this is just my opinion.

I am not even kidding with this one, but evangelical christians are being taught that some dinosaurs were actually taken on Noah's ark!! Like what was said on SNL; 65% of Americans believe that bush is a crappy president, and the other 35% believe that Adam and Eve rode dinosaurs to church!!

The dinosaurs are mentioned in the Bible, in Psalms, Job, and in Isiah. God did create them. The belief is that they were lost in the flood for the most part, were hunted and died out. We just saw a video of a Professor named Havner a PhD who was talking about how they were around for many years after we think, as all of the pictures drawn on caves and such. It was very interesting. He talked about how they were killed and eaten for food, the pictures drawn in the caves showed this, interesting.
The references in the Scriptures talk about when God made them, the verses in Job are God Himself speaking to Job about how He made them. As far as what happened to them, we look at all the evidence just like everyone else does.

They were killed in the flood which is why there are dinosaur fossils. In order for something to fossilize, it has to be buried in mud. Things don't fossilize unless water is involved.
You might be interested in a video called "Dinosaurs and the bible". You can download it from www.drdino.com. It is seminar #4.
It also explains why dinosaurs can't exist in today's conditions.

HAH!! this aughta be good
by the way Mr. WHYNOTASKDON .. dinosaurs went extinct MILLIONS of years ago ... so "Leviathan" has nothing to do with dinos ....they are NOT mentioned in text that was written only a few thousand years ago, obviously
I blame the "dumbing down of america" on YOU, Don ... you raised a generation of bible-thumping ant intellectual anti-science people who live in a fantasy world and inflict their religious laws and bigotry on everyone else while at the same time picketing truly hopeful things like medical research and science in the classroom
uh... nothing personal Don :-)

From a Biblical perspective, the Bible is about the Lord and the church not about species that are becoming or have become extinct.
If you want to know Swedenborg's explaination, Abraham is the first literal person in the scripture.

Most likely whipped out in the flood.
Job 41:1¶ Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down?
Ps 74:14 Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces, and gavest him to be meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness.
Ps 104:26 There go the ships: there is that leviathan, whom thou hast made to play therein.
Isa 27:1¶ In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.
