i started breaking out with (what looks like)hives, SOB, and swelling lymph nodes. Even stranger than this....when i have these episodes...confusion, and lumps (quarter size) also develop on my scalp if it is severe. Sometimes these episones occur after stress...other times it just happens with no stressors.... Can anyone tell me if anxiety can cause this?

Anxiety is a possibility as it affects people differently. Have you tried to find a "common thread" other than anxiety? Try to remember if there is any food item you ate prior to each outbreak. Many people develop allergies and some of the most common are nuts, yeast, or even milk.
If you have any auto-immune disorders (Graves Disease, Rheumatoid Arthritis, etc.) your immune system could be causing the issues you describe.
Whether it is anxiety, stress or your immune system you will be much more comfortable if you will take an anti-histamine at the first sign--you may even find some relief by taking an anti-histamine daily as a preventative.

sounds like anxiety attacks. try a mild anxiety med, see if you still experience the eppisodes. you can't always pin point what causes anxiety attacks, so it's best to try the meds to get in under control. good luck!

Some people do get outbreaks from stress. I think there might be medicines to help with this. Ask your doctor.
Good luck!

It could be stress, or it could be allergies. Only a doctor can tell.
