Are they just doing their thing or are they recriting like scientology? I think it is more dangerous when a group is recruiting than if they are leaving people alone. What is with this group Madona is into? Is it dangerous or are they harmless? Does this faith offend the regular mainstream Jewish faith? What other groups is it offending? I read the wikpedia article, but need more info. Is this a hollywood fad or are they pushing it on others?

I am Messianic Jewish and wouldn't ever become involved with this. My Rabbi says it more of a mystical thing. I have no interest because i don't think mystical is the way to go..

I don't know why its being pushed in Hollywood..i think its a little goofy..It must not be much because Madonna hasn't really changed except getting a little worse..no wonder she doesn't let her kids watch TV they might see what their mom is doing..

I would be ashamed

Kabala is an ancient Jewish thing. If you want a good history, read Gershom Scholem's book. It's very stodgy and scholarly. Madonna is just into a faddy Hollywood rendition, much like how hippies believe in Chakras and stuff--their little mini-faith thing is a modern corruption of ancient studies and disciplines they don't care to look into. I'd compare it to going on the South Beach diet as opposed to being a cult.

There are different types of Kabalah. Hollywood Kabalah, I would say, is only a fad. But the original Jewish Mysticism has been around a long time. I haven't met anyone in Kabalah, outside of the Hollywood styled Kabalah, to recruit anyone. They enjoy discussion, but don't really care what religion you ultimately believe in. They look more to what you follow, as in what teachings you adhere to. Not what God

Kabala has been around for centuries...it has only gotten attention because celebrities ram it down our throats, Kabala is a more mystical form of Judiasm

BTW Nastradomus was born a Jew but converted to the Catholic Church.

Kaballism is a form of Jewish Mystisism, not only do they NOT recruit but if someone asks a Jew how to convert, Jews are taught to dissuade the person as much as possible, because Jews believe that it should not be easy to convert, and it should take a lot of thought. :)

It's a form of Judeaism, isn't it? I don't know how actively they recruit. I know Scientology pushes hard to recruit. All faiths are true and valid, so it's not harmful.

It's a mystical sect of Judeism. It's a cult. So is scientology. One God, one love, one way!

all religions are cults, it's just that some of them are more accepted than others so therefore the more popular can be "accepted" by others unlike the less popular ones which are always looked down apon, so to speak
