So very true. No one is perfect and people need to stop harrassing christians who make mistakes. I say practice what you preach. To be a christian in bible terms it means to be Christ like. In other words to try your best to live like Him. Follow his commands and your walk is between you and Him ONLY. Let everyone else save themselves. I honestly think it's better to be called a child of God than a christian. It's a personal relationship between you and God, it has nothing to do with what church you go to.

Apparently it can mean you are willing to follow any one who talks up front or believe a public figure who wants your vote.
Really though being a christian does not make you smarter, or better it just is a thought process that cause justification by and reconciliation with the one true God. Unfortunately people can think they have done that and someone who wants them to return each week and give money will not help them remove their impediments to going through the process Like the word believe has a specific meaning when becoming a christian for real. You can believe the sun will come up in the East tomorrow, but that is not the kind of belief refered to. It is a much fuller belief that fills your whole being emotional, logical, and physical. When a person actually goes through the process then there is an observable change in their behavior. They can relapse if they do not feed the change, and people disagree about what is going on there but the antidote is the same, do it again. In fact one reading of scripture the tense of the verb is explained because we do not have that tense, but the translation says you must go through the process daily.
I apologize for Christians not practicing the accountability instruction in our Holy book. It is a big problem. Anyone who thinks Bush does not need some disaplining just does not understand God's word. The guy is a real blemish on the rectum of christianity.

absolutly your actions speak louder than words. The majority of americans say that they are christians, however, when you look at the way that they live, it's obvious that they aren't. To be considered a christian in Gods eyes, you need to give your life and heart over to him, turn away from the bad theings that you were doing and when you do something wrong make ammends with God and with the person that you've wronged. It's inevitable that we as humans are going to screw up. That's human nature. However, it's what you decide to do with your life that defines who you are.

Your actions absolutely speak louder than words! As a matter of fact your words mean nothing unless you are speaking the truth as the first century Christians spoke it. Most people allow their pastors, priests etc, to do their Bible reading and UNDERSTANDING. Most priests and pastors like it that way so you won't know they are telling you something other than the truth.

Yes actions speak louder than words, sure. We are to love the Lord with all our hearts, all our minds, and all our soul. We are to love our neighbors, look to others needs and not only to our own. We are to be angry but not to sin with it. We are to be gentle, and not harsh. We are to love unconditionally and not judge. We are to be filled with the Holy Spirit so we can do all these things! If we're living by the Spirit our lives should reflect these things by our actions, if we are living for ourselves you will see the opposite of these things.

YES THEY DO! You have to know the Word of the Lord, LIVE the Word of the Lord, and share the Word of the Lord with others. Your words and actions have to be pleasing to the Lord. You cannot teach others about God if you are not a good example of His teachings. Jesus was a great role model of the Word of the Lord.

To be a Christian is to follow Christ. I follow Him, I dont pretend that Im without sin, though Love covers a multitude of sin. What He spoke I believe, what His disciples and apostles taught I believe. I stay away from teachings that evolved later from men who never had contact with Him. I do not live the Bible to the letter but because I believe it, I know where I fall short.

To be a Christian is not just trying to "be a good person." If you are truly a Christian(a follower of Christ) then that should dictate your actions.

The word "Christian" means, Christ like. The idea of trying to conduct one's life as Christ did(healing, kindness, spreading the word of his father, etc.) Some of my own "wordly" things seem to take presadence over the christian part, I prefer spiritual.

"If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved". This is the first step in being a Christian; it is being "born again" of the spirit, by faith in Jesus Christ.
The Christian walk begins with belief in Jesus, but all our lives it's about finding out more about Him (by studying the bible) and about learning how to pray, learning how God desires for us to live our life, like that. It is an ongoing adventure, until the day that our faith is made sight upon His return.
