It seems people think they have the right to say whatever is on their mind without thinking because they are "being real", whatever happened to using just a little bit of tact.

No, there is no point in hurting people unless you are sure they will listen to you, and that it is to their advantage to know the truth.

The truth is fantastic and it's best used kindly. If you look a little closer you'll probably see that the people who claim they're being real either radiate bitterness or ignorance.

Those people ought to consider that the "real" truth may be best delivered by someone closer to that individual than themselves, who doesn't seem so happy to blurt out humiliating things.

I believe in being honest with someone. And I'm sorry if it hurts their feelings but I'm not on this earth to baby or pamper anyone.
The only people that I try my best not to hurt is family. And if that is the case then instead of saying anything, I try to say nothing. That way I'm not lying but I'm not hurting them either.

If you start out with a lie, then you have to use another lie to cover the first lie and so on and so forth.
And eventually the truth always comes out.
Then whoever you lied to is pissed off anyway.

You should always tell the truth! Why? Sooner or later, someone will bring it up! Some old friend, will mention it to someone else, and the chain will start!!

Truth shows trust. yes. People get offended when no one trusts them. They need to tell the truth to save trouble.

You can't tell the truth all the time because it hurts.

I think there are times when a "little white lie" is a more compassionate way of protecting the other person's feelings.
