ppl see it as a place were ppl suffer for eternity?

it says in the Bible that you die for sining but a gift of beleiving in christ you go to heaven!

so what i am saying is like there are two deaths physical and spiritual in the river of burning sulphure.

so do u think that when u die and u arent saved hell is an eternity without God as in you dont exist after ur spiritual death?

You are correct! Hell is misinterpreted- it is the grave. The lake of fire is the second death, eternal in that it is a final, forever death in that you perish. See John 3:16 you'll see the word perish again.
Read John 3:17 also because they go together. The only ones who are promised eternal life are believers, saints, the body of Christ.

There's hell for those who do NOT persevere to the end (see Mt 24-13). That hell is an eternity. See Is 33:11, 14 Who can live with the everlasting flames. And Mt 25:41 Depart , you accursed, into the everlasting fire. The worst pain of hell is the eternal loss of God.

Then there's purgatory, a place similar to hell which is a place of expiation. Remember that no unclean thing shall enter the kingdom of Heaven (Rev. 21-27). See also Mt 5:26 which says that you will not be released until you pay the last penny. In 2 Macc 12:44-46 attonment for the dead to free them from sin. (The Jews always prayed for the dead.) The pain of purgatory is the temperary lack of the Beatific Vision (seeing God). But there is hope in purgatory.

Heaven: total joy and the Beatific Vision.

Hell is complete torture of all the senses. Read Dante's Inferno for the best idea of what Hell is.

I agree with you about misrepresentation on this subject. When I was a child hell was pictured by fire with a ruling devil.

Now that I am grown and have studied the scriptures, hell or hades merely means a hole in the ground, and every town had one it was called the garbage dump where refuse burned day and night. I think that things were added to the scriptures by whoever approved which books to keep and which to leave out, so that we would all be scared to death of ever even thinking that there wasn't a hell. so the controversy will always be until the secrets of the universe is opened to us as Jesus promised we're just not ready yet, we can't even handle the earth.

The hell of which the Bible speaks is eternal damnation, in a unimaginable horrible burning lake of fire...away from God, separated from all the wonderfulness of heaven and the new earth. Read Revelations (use a study guide or take a class). Hell is real...don't kid yourself. The only way to escape an eternity in hell is by giving yourself to Jesus Christ, the Son of God. When we die, our physical bodies will one day become glorifed bodies and be reunited with our spirits. We will spend eternity with God!

The Bible teaches that when we die, we die physically of course, and spiritually we live on, and we go to one place or the other. Everyone has a spirit that will live for eternity. We have a choice as to where we would like to go, to heaven or to hell. Hell is a place or torment for eternity, the Bible says. Heaven on the other hand is a place of peace and being with the Lord for eternity.

John 5:29 says we all rise to be judged (good and evil). Hell is mentioned many times in the Bible, so I believe it exists. When the Book of Revelation talks about the New Jerusalem, it refers to the place outside it's gates as hell - or the place where those who did not believe would stay.

Hell is a place for souls to be for eternity. The body of the person will never be returned, as it will for the souls that reach heaven.
You will exist as long as GOD needs you. People either good or bad are here only because GOD wills it so.
That's the reward I heard - After the resurrection GOD returns the faithful bodies to a pure state, and they live in a heavenly state for eternity, with GOD. Those that failed are in hell, forever, shut off, due to their free will choices, from the radiance of GOD.

Well, number one it does NOT say in the Bible that you will go to heaven. It does NOT say you have a "soul" that is separate from your body and the burning hell part was construed out of pagan beliefs of the fourth century that Emperor Constantine incorporated into his new version of Christianity that we know as Catholics. It's really a shame that Christendom continues to promote doctrines that they know are false.

well Florida is not the best place. Wait! You mean hell in the bible, oh okay buddy. Well it is a place no one should want to go to.

Imagine being totally lonely and wanting someone to be there with you and comfort but there is none, ever. That is probably what hell may be like according to Jesus description of hell.

No, going to hell isn't death as in you don't exist. It is suffering. In the bible there's a story. There's a rich man, and isn't saved. He dies. He goes to hell. How do we know this? Because it says that he was in hell and that he wanted just one drop of water from heaven because he was so thirsty and just in a horrible state. But that was his punishment so he couldn't have his wish. That's how I back up my theory that hell exists and you don't go into a state of non existence if you don't go to heaven.
