Yes, but the mother cat teaches them what to do. She's important to their training, and will be better at using the litter box when they are older if they stay together for six to eight weeks.

if the moma cat has not litter trained the kittens yet, using a tissue turn the kitten over and stroke the belly near the tail toward the tail, you need the tissue to catch the urine. and anything else.

yes there mom teaches them, we just got some wild kittens and they diddent have there mom but they used the litter box without being trained

Have a litter box available for them, they will. Otherwise, when they are really little, mom cleans it!
