we just had the deluxe version for supper... and i tell you... the crust was chewy and floury tasting... the toppings were very salty, there was way too much sauce and way too little cheese.... So what i want to know, is what is your opinion on Delissio Rising Crust Pizza!!!!

the rising crust is a result of adding baking soda ( or powder, I always get the 2 confused), in any case, if you want a real good pizza home made, follow this procedure

with dough bought at a local bakery or grocery store, spin out or spread out and place on a lightly greased or PAM'd pan

cover with sauce, a little on the generous side, it is going to evaporate a little

and then cover with real mozzerella cheese (the more milk fat the better, more creamy taste) either grated or thinly sliced

thats it to start, place in the oven

while this is starting to cook, prepare you pepperoni slices, mushrooms, olives, peppers etc.

when the crust is just starting to form, and just starting to turn from white to light golden brown, remove pizza and add tippings, then finish cooking

this process allows the dough to start to rise before all of the water from the ingredients gets into it and makes it doughy or saugy.

We love it! Maybe it's the way you baked it. They say to put it right on the rack, but we like it better on a pizza pan. In our area, we have a Co-op which makes their own version, and it's superior to Delissio. Each to her own....
