What is an "internet icon" ... an HTML page? If so, you've probably somehow disassociated Internet Explorer with the .HTM/.HTML file extension types.

Run My Computer, Tools > Folder Options > File Types, and see if Internet Explorer is associated with these extensions (scroll thru the list).

First, top-click on the sparkling portion of your individual computing device and choose homes. click on the very own computing device tab and choose 'customize very own computing device...'. Uncheck information superhighway Explorer on the very own computing device Icons section and click ok on the two communique packing containers to close and persist with the diversities. Now the IE icon is long gone!

Make sure your favourite browser is set as your default browser.

Next, click on your My Computer icon, go to Tools:Folder Options:File Types. Look for your internet icon and make sure that it links to your browser.
