If your cat has not done this before, there has to be reasons
( and no you should not kill it ). The spot where he is peeing at needs to have the odour removed as he could be returning to the same spot. Clean area with cleaner and then use Febreeze to get rid of the odour completly ( as a cat's sense of smell is very keen). Perhaps it is just that very reason that he is doing his busness on the floor.
Cats are very territorial, perhaps he is marking his territory
(usually unneutered males do this) and neutering helps solve this problem.
If your cat is neutered or spayed, the cause may be a change in your household, a new cat, or just your daily routine that's upsetting him. Try giving him more attention, reassuring your pet if this may be the case.
Is the cat's litter box hard to get at, is it big enough for him to move around in, does he have privacy in it's location, does the litter box have enough litter for him to cover his busness afterwards, or maybe you need to try a different litter? All of these may be the cause.
Another condition that could be the problem is FLUTD. This is an urinary tract infection, very painful for a cat and can be fatal. The symtoms usually are in appropriate urination ( on the floor), lack of energy, loss of appetite, frequent urination, maybe blood in his urine. If this may be the cause, contact your vet immediately as this disease is very bad for cats and could even be life-threatening.
Anyway, there's no need to kill the poor beast, also if you are yelling and kicking at him, that too doesn't help as he won't understand what your going on about and that's animal abuse! Instead try to find what the reason behind his behavior is and work from there. Good Luck.

Of course you shouldn't kill it. How would you like it if someone killed you because you had a bladder problem?
Take it to the shelter

take your cat to the vet! don't do that! had any major changes around your home lately? some animals "react" to major changes this way.
